Warranty Policy
Hardware
Blue Point
Computers warrants that its products and
systems are free of defects in
workmanship and materials, under normal
use and service, for the period of one
year from the date of purchase, and as
further covered by any extended warranty
purchased with the product. Should
a product or system fail to be in good
working order during the applicable
warranty period, Blue Point Computers
will, at its option and expense, repair
or replace it, or deliver to the
Customer an equivalent product, system
or part at no additional charge except
as set forth below. Individual component
manufacturer guarantees will be honored
beyond the Blue Point Computers Warranty
Period for exchange of defective
components for an equivalent product
(free service / installation is
not included). Repair parts
and replacement products and systems are
furnished on an exchange basis and will
be either reconditioned or new. All
defective products, systems, and parts
will become the property of Blue Point
Computers. Any replaced or repaired
product, system or part has a ninety
(90) day warranty or the remainder of
the initial warranty period, whichever
is longer. Blue Point Computers shall
not be liable under this warranty if its
testing and examination disclose that
the alleged defect in the product or
system does not exist or was caused by
the Customer's, or any third party's,
misuse, neglect, improper installation
or testing, attempt to repair or modify,
or any other cause beyond the range of
the intended use, or by accident, fire,
lightning, or other hazard .
Blue Point Computers will not be
responsible for problems created by
misuse or physical abuse of a product,
component or its system or for problems
created by additional software or
components installed by the Customer or
others after the date of purchase of the
product or system.
Customer must utilize all
components and/or systems in strict
accordance with manufacturers’
recommendations and must utilize
consumables such as ink cartridges only
as recommended by the component and/or
system manufacturer.
Errors or problems caused by
software may require the Customer to
contact the software manufacturer.
Problems or errors due to misuse, abuse,
or software that are corrected by Blue
Point Computers will be subject to
normal service charges.
Software
Software and
documentation materials are supplied "as
is" without warranty as to their
performance, merchantability, or fitness
for any particular purpose. However, the
diskette media containing the software
are covered by a 90-day warranty that
protects the Customer against failure
within that period.
On-Site Warranty Service
Customers located
within our Local Service Area will, if
desired, receive on-site warranty
service troubleshooting or they may
bring their products or systems to our
Lancaster facility. Certain
troubleshooting and repair procedures
may need to be performed at our services
facility. A service fee including
travel in accordance with our
Service Policy
will be charged to the Customer if Blue
Point Computers determines that there
was "No Problem Found" or that the
damage was caused by the Customer or a
third party.
Warranty Service Procedures
Any product may be returned to Blue
Point Computers if not located within
the Local Service Area if:
Received in error
In a defective or
non-functioning condition
Exhibiting a defect under normal
working conditions
The Customer must provide the
following:
Dated proof of purchase
Product model number & quantity
Product serial number
Precise reason for return
Customer name/address/e-mail
address/telephone/fax
The Customer may choose to
deliver or ship the product back
to Blue Point Computers with
prepaid freight. Any package
sent C.O.D. (Cash On Delivery)
will be refused. Charges:
Usually RMA (Returned Material
Authorization) items will be
returned to the Customer via
courier, prepaid by Blue Point
Computers. If returned by
another carrier, the Customer
will pay the difference. A
return freight and handling fee
will be charged to the Customer
if Blue Point Computers
determines that there was "No
Problem Found" or that the
damage was caused by the
Customer or a third party.
Extended Warranty
The following extended computer
warranties including parts and labor are
available at the time of product
purchase:

Warning
Blue Point Computers
is not responsible for the integrity of
any data on storage equipment (hard
drives, tape drives, floppy diskettes,
compact disks, etc.). We strongly
recommend that our Customers backup
their data before sending equipment in
for diagnosis or repair.
Services After
Warranty Period
After the
warranty period expires, all products
may be repaired for a reasonable service
charge. The shipping charges to and from
the Blue Point Computers facility will
be covered by the Customer.
Return for Credit
In the case of a
defective product, a return for credit
will automatically be applied to the
Customer's account, unless otherwise
requested.
Limitation of
Liability
All expressed and
implied warranties of a product's
merchantability, or of its fitness for a
particular purpose, are limited in
duration to the applicable period as set
forth in the limited warranty, and no
warranty will be considered valid after
its expiration date.
If this product does
not function as warranted, the
Customer's sole remedy shall be repair
or replacement as provided for above. In
no case shall Blue Point Computers be
liable for any incidental,
consequential, special, or indirect
damages resulting from loss of data,
loss of profits, or loss of use.
